35mm Fire Doors

If you’re working with existing 35mm door linings - particularly in older properties or during a renovation - a 35mm fire door lets you upgrade your fire protection without needing to replace the whole frame. It’s a more cost-effective, less invasive way to meet modern safety standards.

Yes. Despite being slimmer, our 35mm fire doors are independently tested and fully FD30 certified, meaning they provide 30 minutes of fire resistance just like a 44mm fire door - when installed with the correct fire-rated hardware and accessories.

Fire door installation should always be done with care and handled by a competent person to ensure compliance with safety regulations and to make sure it functions correctly. 

While many DIY-savvy homeowners can hang a standard door, fire doors require precise fitting and fire-rated hardware (like intumescent strips) to perform as intended.

Fire-rated doors are supplied as door leaves only, so you’ll need to purchase certified fire door hardware separately. That includes hinges, latches, closers and intumescent strips - all of which are essential to maintain the door’s FD30 performance.

Not always! It depends on your layout and intended use of the building. Fire doors are often required between kitchens and stairwells, in loft conversions, or when connecting to an integral garage. Likewise, if it’s a HMO property, legally each individual living space should be separated with a fire-rated door from any common area such as a corridor. If you’re unsure, always check with your local building control or a qualified tradesperson.
