French Doors for a Garden Building in Saffron Walden

Our trade customer Black Oak Wood Co is a family run business specialising in bespoke garden buildings and saunas.

For a recent client in Saffron Walden they tackled an ambitious brief: a modern garden building that could integrate a high-end sauna and functional bathroom. The space also needed to feel connected to the family’s garden.

Traditional Techniques with a Contemporary Touch

There’s a real craft to what the team at Black Oak Wood Co and it’s important they find the right design elements to complement their handiwork.

Mark from Black Oak Wood Co explains: “We’ve been going since 2021. We specialise in Shou Sugi Ban cladding which is otherwise known as charred wood cladding. This is traditionally referred to as Yakisugi - the Japanese art of burning wood to preserve it and capture a beautiful finish.”

Our black aluminium French doors were exactly what the team were looking for to complement the black effect of the wood. Mark found us online and quickly placed an order for the “sleek and stylish” doors which matched his client’s brief perfectly.

Elegant Functionality with Black Aluminium French Doors

Mark says: “This large garden room is split into 3 rooms. One room is a yoga studio with a sauna and one room is a media room with a TV joined with a Jack and Jill bathroom. The space is designed for about 6 to 8 people so it needs to have a welcoming, open feel.”
