Looking to update your living space, then why not consider the addition of internal folding doors? Internal bifold doors as they're often called, contain a series of large vertical glass panels that fold all the way back to the door frame. They are sometimes called concertina doors or internal folding doors due to the way they open. Internal bifold doors are an incredible attractive way of boosting the light within your home and utilising room space.
Internal bifold doors can be used for multiple purposes. If you are short on space, their folding style is a great way to separate rooms without having to worry about the width of the door once opened. They are also a great way of creating space. A lot of people use interior bifold doors as partitions to divide smaller rooms in two. For example if you’ve always wanted a dining room but simply don’t have the space in your house, some people may opt to divide their kitchen with internal bifold doors. The transparency of the glass doors can also make rooms feel much larger than they actually are.
Internal bifold doors are a flexible way of transforming the interior of your home. If you were to put up a wall between two rooms there’s not a lot you can do about it afterwards. Interior bifold doors can be folded back towards the wall so you can open up or close off the space whenever you feel it necessary.
There are multiple styles of doors also so if you want to completely separate the rooms you can opt for solid doors or doors with frosted windows. The latter look is more aesthetically pleasing but still closes off the other room so you can’t see through. You could also opt for bifold doors with large clear glass panels so you can view into other rooms without your home. The style choice will depend on your personal preference but you will be able to find everything you need in our extensive bifold range.
Want to know more about our range? We offer 3 main types of internal folding doors - the Roomfold Standard, the Roomfold Deluxe and the Roomfold Grande.
The Roomfold Standard Range: The Roomfold Standard range is a top-hung internal folding door system with no base track or threshold, and is supplied with; doors; unfinished frame as standard; head track; running gear and hinges; but excludes handle/latch and flush bolts. This system allows through flooring to be installed with no break.
The Roomfold Deluxe Range: The Roomfold Deluxe Range is is also a top-hung internal bifold system, but there is a much wider variety of panel sizes and width options available. These internal bifolding door sets are offered complete with; finished frame; head track; low level base track and threshold; stainless steel hinges and hinge handles and brushed stainless steel drop bolts. The only item you need to purchase is the handle/latch, where most people want to match existing ironmongery.
The Roomfold Grande Range: The Grande range includes the benefits of both the standard and the deluxe ranges, whilst being available in a huge range of sizes and is designed with no base tracks. The Grande range is ideal for installing over existing floor coverings like tiling or parquet flooring.
Once these systems are installed the low level threshold aligns with most existing finished floor levels so you have little or no step, and these sets offer a higher level of rigidity when closed in a screen.
An added benefit of the Roomfold Deluxe over most other standard internal folding door systems is that door panels up to 762mm wide can be used giving you large glass panes, and large opening doors.
If you have any specific requirements on size, please don’t hesitate to call as most of our sets are joinery products meaning that they can be modified in height and width. These products should be installed by a joiner or professional DIYer to achieve the best product performance. Please ensure any unfinished doors are suitably stored and decorated before installation.
